Frequently Asked Questions

6th Annual Tipp Hill Music Fest

What’s the date and time for 2012?

Saturday, September 22nd, 12 Noon to 7PM

Where is the location?

Pass Arboretum (Across from the Avery/Salisbury/Whittier Ave/Burnet Park entrance). Rain backup location – Burnet Park Ice Rink Pavilion.

What is the Tipperary Hill Music Festival?

The Tipperary Hill Music Festival is a celebration of our neighborhood’s rich and diverse musical heritage. It is a free one day festival for all ages, a not for profit endeavor that benefits the community. The Tipperary Hill Neighborhood Association is a major sponsor for the event. An estimated 3,000 people attended last years event, soaking up the great weather in this beautiful city park, enjoying the local food and craft vendors and the unmistakable vibe created by great music played in a beautiful outdoor setting. Our goal is to one day provide music-related scholarships to neighborhood children.

What kind of music can I expect?

The music will, of course pay homage to the Irish roots of the Tipperary Hill Neighborhood, but will also be diverse like the neighborhood is today, and will include approximately sixteen acts on four stages. Music continues at night into the neighborhood establishments. Neighborhood musicians are encouraged to bring their instrument and sign up to perform at the Talent Stage. The band line-up for 2012 will be announced at the end of June.

What else can I expect?

There will be local food and craft vendors, festival merchandise for sale, info on music instruction and hand-made instrument sales. There will be a Kid’s Tent with children’s activities, including a “Learn How to Plant a Tree” activity for youngsters.

What about parking?

Those attending from the neighborhood are encouraged to walk over to Pass Arboretum. Parking is available on the neighborhood streets, in Burnet Park and at local schools and churches with designated signage. A parking shuttle will be provided. Handicap parking is available at the back gate where Myrtle Ave. and Tompkins Street meet.

What should I bring?

It’s always good to bring a blanket or chair to sit on.

Can I bring my pet?

Although this location is known as a great spot to walk a dog, generally speaking dogs and large crowds of people don’t mix. We ask that you refrain from bringing your pet, or at least walk your pet in an area of the park away from the crowds on the day of the festival. Pets must be on a leash at all times.

How can I support this great event?

We need volunteers to help with parking, handing out festival guides, the merchandise tent, etc, please contact us via the festival website if you can spare a few hours.

Buying festival merchandise supports the event since all the profits go directly back into the bank account for the following year. In addition, we are looking for sponsors, crafters and food vendors.
